MDoT improvement of M-26 through Hubbell and Tamarack City will begin in 2011. The project will be total rebuild of the road and sidewalks, not just a resurfacing.
All old blacktop will be removed, the old concrete road will be removed and the roadbed will be removed and rebuilt. All existing sidewalks will be replaced. The elevation of the street will be lowered by about six inches as a result.
